Simulated Time: 0.0 / 60.0 s
Every experiment runs for 60 simulated seconds. On-screen playback is accelerated.
Mean Rate (60 s): 0.0000 mM/s
Remaining Glucose: 0.00 mM
ATP (fixed): 0.00 mM
Reaction
Glucose + ATP → Glucose-6-phosphate + ADP
ATP is supplied in excess and held constant. The experiment runs for 60 simulated seconds.

Thermal Stability Status

Estimated WT GCK thermal unfolding midpoint (Tm)—
Modeled active GCK—
Thermal stateFolded / active
Tm is estimated from the initial glucose concentration using published WT human GCK thermal-stability measurements. Tm is the midpoint of the modeled thermal unfolding transition, not the catalytic optimum temperature. Glucose stabilizes GCK and shifts this transition to higher temperature.
Chemical Inhibition Status
Chemical inhibitorNone
Alloxan concentration0.0 µM
Modeled activity retained after alloxan100%
Modeled alloxan-inactivated GCK0%
Alloxan is modeled as an SH-reactive GCK inhibitor. The inhibition term is a simplified teaching model informed by reported low-micromolar inhibition and glucose-dependent protection; it is not a fitted pharmacological dose-response model.
GCK molecules are moving symbolic enzyme particles. Folded / active GCK is shown as a compact blue enzyme. Alloxan-inactivated GCK remains compact but is marked with a red S–S bond to distinguish chemical thiol oxidation from thermal unfolding. A red unfolded-chain symbol is reserved for modeled thermal denaturation. The shapes are qualitative teaching illustrations, not atomistic structures.
Concentration Over Simulated Time
The graph shows glucose consumption and product formation during a fixed 60-second simulated reaction.

Each experiment lasts 60 simulated seconds. Rates are calculated as glucose-6-phosphate produced divided by 60 seconds. Completed results are retained in the course records; check the cloud save status to confirm each submission.
